Don’t blame it on the atom bomb; this tentacle porn thing has been going on for a while. This is Hokusai (Great Wave off Kanagawa, that Hokusai) in 1820 illustrating The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife aka Pearl Diver and Two Octopuses.
Translation follows:
